Program with Acts: The Spread of the Kingdom. The book of Acts shows the Church, enlivened by the Holy Spirit, teaching, preaching, healing, and restoring outcasts in the same way that Jesus did on earth. The Acts of the Apostles provides an historic framework for understanding the rest of the New Testament. Paul's letters in particular come alive in a new way when they are read within the context of the Acts narrative."  Each participant should bring a notebook and a Bible to the
Bible Study. The Introductory Session occurred on Monday,
December 7, 2009. Weekly sessions will continue on successive Mondays through April 19, 2010. There is no cost for this Bible Study. To register, please contact Jim Kerr at 966-7950.  For more information about Great Adventure Bible Studies by Jeff Cavins, or to view a sample video or sample lesson, please visit the Great Adventure website at     http://www.ascensionpress.com/shop/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=335.

During the Thirty Years War, the village of Oberammergau was spared the Black Plague, and forthis very reason, the villagers vowed that every ten years they would give a play to honor the life of Christ. The performers are all native Oberammergaurs. To lend authenticity to the performance, the cast start to grow their hair and beards more than a year in advance! Also, the intricate costumes are made locally by the villagers. For most, this is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so early registration is important for the best seats. I hope you'll consider joining us.
